A liberal arts laboratory-based physics course for non-science majors beginning with an introduction to the basic principles of physics. The relevance of physics will then be applied to understand and make decisions on many of societal issues. Topics include climate change, peak oil, nuclear power and weapons, natural disasters, satellites, quantum physics, and relativity, as well as fundamental lab techniques.
