What to expect in class
- This course is designed for people who are serious about learning to defend themselves.
- Although Krav Maga is not a fitness class, the lessons may be physically demanding. You can only run away in real life if you can run, so you will be constantly challenged to better yourself. The more you sweat in training, the less you bleed on the street.
- Safety is taken very seriously. Safety equipment will be provided and COVID-19 safety protocols are place.
What is Krav Maga?
In the real world, there are no mats, rings, or gloves. Most importantly, there are no rules.
Krav Maga is a practical self defense system that teaches people the simplest, most effective techniques that work for most people, most of the time, in most situations. It re-trains your nervous system to respond to danger. It teaches you to remain calm under the stress of a violent physical confrontation and apply controlled aggression and strategy to get out of the situation as quickly as possible.
Krav Maga starts with critical thinking and situational awareness. It follows a unique and logical approach that is easy to learn and retain. Under stressful conditions, untrained people generally revert to natural instincts. Krav Maga takes these natural, intuitive movements and turns them into structured technique. The techniques employ the quickest, simplest movements, and often use aggression and surprise to simultaneously defend and attack.
Krav Maga is not a martial art. Krav Maga is a mentality and a self-defense system. There are no competitions. It is meant for people who are serious about defending themselves. It is meant for real life. It teaches you how to survive so you can go home safely.
