Social Justice 12 takes a critical approach to social justice, examining how society is stratified in significant and far-reaching ways along social group lines that include race, class, gender, sexuality, and ability. Students will learn to identify and understand the unequal nature of society by learning about prejudice, discrimination, oppression, power, and privilege. Critical social justice recognizes inequality as deeply embedded in the structure of society, and actively works towards greater equality.
